I had a site bookmarked on my old computer where you could post a project and get bids for the work from programmers etc. The problem is when my old computer died I lost all the bookmarks and cannot remember the name of this particular website. Does anyone know of a freelance type site where you can post a web project.

RentaCoder and Elance are two other freelance websites where you can do this.

Odesk is too big nowadays. It would be better to try smaller sites. It's hard to find a job on a site with too many competitors who are also looking for a job.

Elance, Odesk, and Freelancer are the best websites for finding possible clients or to get someone to help on your project. They all have a bidding interface that will allow people to put a price on your project. Just make sure to find reputable people, have had a ton of back luck with freelacing websites.

There are a lot of freelance portals in the web right now. oDesk is one of the best I have tried and they offer a vast number of freelancers from all over the world that can provide cool service from article writing to programming. You have other options as well though but not all are free -Elance, Scriptlance, Freelancer, Rentacoder etc Even fiverr actually counts as one of the freelance websites today.

You can also try forums like the WarrorForum where jobs are often posted and bid on. DigitalPoint is another.

In all of the above mentioned freelance websites, oDesk, Freelancer, eLance are the website where you can earn as much as you can based on your skills. For me on these all three website success rate is pretty good, and everyone can get success as well by proving honest and good quality work.

If you're new to all the freelance website then getting the first project is kind of struggling. Bid as much you can with quality bid/proposals and try to provide the best of your samples. Keep try and try again, one day I hope you'll have your first job :D
