Are there any domain registrars giving free domains at the moment? I know co.cc is free to register and works just like any other domain. Anyone know any others?

Note that although domains like co.cc are free, the facts are that the owner of the co.cc domain can cancel all of those subdomains at any time, leaving you empty handed and without all the work you put into building up the reputation of the domain. If you are planning on working hard on a project at least pay for a domain name.

Best to just buy your own domain, I don't know of any registrars giving free domains unless they are subdomains.

uni.cc and eu.org are free tool, but buy it. it's cheap enough

The problem happens such domains that them can select

co.cc and dot.tk are free domains. But as Uncle Awesome says --> free domains can cancel your account at anytime. I had it happen to me just today but it wasn't any major project or anything.

If you want to use free domains just realize that you don't have full control and by all means back-up all your work! This way if they go bellyup or cancel your account, you can just relocate your content elsewhere.

Actually it's so many free domain similliar with co.cc , I have use co.tv and co.nr . I was seen it on one of link on http://www.linkreferral.com , but i forget what it's the web name. If you wanna try to find it, you can try to browse on linkreferral.com

Like Uncle said, it's always better to go for a paid domain. You can get a .com domain as cheap as $10 for one year. It's much less than the reputation and potential earning you can get with the professional-looking domain.

My take on this is that, if one is not confident of recovering 6-10$ from the domain you are developing, why be in the business of internet marketing ??

Paying for services also forces us to get out of the couch & be productive with our time.
