You should strive for quality not quantity. Twenty to fifty quality backlinks have more value than 5000 ordinary backlinks. Sometimes only one in special place can bring you awesome traffic!

Sometimes it is not about having a long list of do follow sites, sometimes it is how you work with the social bookmark websites. Here are what I suggest aside from do follow SB sites:

1. look for SB sites that are crawled often
2. look for SB sites that have good visitors number
3. look for SB sites that are relevant to your site
4. understand the rules and guidelines of the site and follow them
