How To Get Started In Property Investing

Hey guys,

I'd like to start a new thread which is revolved around property investment in the beginning stages. This would help me on a personal base because I am a 20 year old male, currently with about $12000 in cash, and my goal is to purchase my first investment property within 12 months. I would like to find a way to speed up this process. Ideas such as dealing with real estate agents, talking to property managers, obtaining finance etc. would be greatly appreciated.

This thread is designed to help not only myself, but other newcomers to the world of property investing.
