Hi,

I recently just set up a blog and am in the midst of driving traffic to it.

I've employed certain strategies in which I blog down. Some are pretty successful like submitting to social networks.

Currently I am trying to participate in forums to see whether they can boost my traffic too.

How else you drive traffic to your site?

Good link exchanges can help. Visitors see your link elsewhere and click on it.

You mean places like trafficswarm and linkreferral? Those take some effort in visiting other sites as well right? unless one pays for advertising too.

good suggestion!

You can also look for other blogs that share the same genre as yours and do link exchange with them...

I tried it before and it indeed does drive traffic. However, on my traffic chart, it appears to be a spike over a few hours only.

I wonder how to achieve consistency in traffic generation too.

It`s mainly about content. Give the visitors what they want to read about and you`ll get traffic through the search engines.

I see. Let's say i have already focused on a niche topic and am actively trying to raise up the page ranks. Is there a ballpark figure as to how long consistent traffic will flow.

I know how absurd the question sounds but if anyone with experience can share, that will be definitely helpful. smile.gif

It will flow as long as you update your site regularly....My blog has gotten traffic all the while mostly from search engines...

And if I were you, don't care too much about page rank....Sure it gives your site a higher profile and for you to be proud of....But in the end, its the content of your site, the traffic it has that matters more than anything else..

One of the difficult to make money is driving the legit traffic.
I have doing almost all white hate SEO for some of my site but only work for 2.
Now I can generate $92/month from those site. Not bad I think.

Your $$ generation is purely from ads?

Why don't you try searching for boards that are on topic with your blog, put your link in your siggy if it is permitted and just participate? I am new to this forum but that has worked for me. You can go to EZBoard\Yuku and search for forums similar to your blog.
