I currently have 3.65%, no fixed time deal and free transactions. Swedish bank.

Getting 5% with standard bank deposit for 6 mths here in New Zealand. Well capitalised straight forward banks

You have to be very careful if you have any old savings accounts. Financial institutions have a nasty habit of reducing interest rates on their savings accounts over a period of time without saying anything.

I know of one account which is an ISA with a building society in the UK where the interest rate has dropped to a measly 0.1%!

Yet, open a new accout with them and they`ll give 2% on an ISA, or 3% on an online savings instant access account.

They really are sneaky. 4.gif

Mine dropped to .1%

I should close it and open one again to get a higher rate. What is ISA?
