In case you missed it, the Google Earth Beta was released a few days ago. I've been playing around with it and I'm impressed. It is similiar to Google Maps, but is in the shape of the earth. You can scan/tilt/zoom in and out on all parts of the earth using pictures taken from various satelites. It has a seemless design, so you actually feel like you are flying around the earth. You can zoom in on big cities to individual buildings and houses but not so much on areas with less population. They are adding more detailed maps all the time, so it should be interesting to see how this progresses. Here are some of my favorite features:

-Ability to get directions from one place to another (just like mapquest). However, you are able to view the entire area around where you are going, this really seems like it would help when planning a trip.
-3D terrain (in all areas) and buildings (in some areas)
-Ability to see lodging, dining, banks, golf courses, etc. etc., options throughout the U.S. (check out the dining options in New York City!) I noticed it has detail even in small towns
-See all the major roads in some countries
-It's free!

As long as you have a broadband connection and a decent video card, you should have no problem running this.

While it isn't complete yet, I think you can have a lot of fun with it! Enjoy!

If anyone is interested...

Does anyone in MMG live in London? Just wondering what the reaction is...seems kinda mixed...some excited about the east side getting development, others don't want to deal with all the traffic and jump in prices.

And since we're on the subject, has anyone ever lived in a city where the olympics were held? What was it like for the normal people that were just living there?

I just noticed on the newsletter that the amount of subscribers has surpassed 15,000! That is quite an accomplishment! Seems like a good day today with the announcement of 5,000 for MMG and now this. So to some of the hardest working people in the industry, CONGRATS! clapping7.gif

Hi everyone. I started visiting MMG a couple months ago without registering...now that I've been registered for a few weeks, I figured it would be nice to say hello. I spend a good amount of time on this site, but I tend to stay quiet (obviously). I think the most amount of posts I've ever had on another message board is 50, but I plan on staying here awhile, so who knows!

In case anyone is interested, I tend to invest in programs that have been around for a while and are relatively 'safe' (or safer than most in this game). Programs like ST, TGT, PIN, EZWBD, SYNC, 4Daily, etc.

I've gained a lot of info from this site, so Thank You clapping7.gif and Hello wave.gif
