i must say i am embarrassed to admit i never heard of anzac till this day,but i guess thats becuase ive lived in the U.S all my life and never really studied the history of other countries.. the writing on the wall is very well written
ANZAC day is a day of remembrance in Australia for all of our countrymen and women who have fought in the wars. The diggers and their families march after attending a dawn service. I was listening to one elderly man today. When he first started marching he had 900 serviceman in his group. There are now only 140 left. It is very sad, and very moving, I can't really explain it. The good news is more and more of the youth of Australia are attending these marches each year, in recognition of these outstanding people.
We even have anzac biscuits which most australians have eaten through their childhood. I don't think there would be many mothers who have not made them at some time. They are very much like butternut snaps.
