Hi folks! biggrin.gif

I would just like to do a simple survey to gauge how the M’sian investor really feel about all those advertisements promoting financial courses seen in the newspapers everyday. From Stocks to Options to Forex, thy just appear endlessly in our papers. I wonder how many ppl actually respond to them.

As investment returns come, it could be realistic to investor A but might not b conservative enuf for investor B, so thr is really no right or wrong answers. Thrfore, all answers are appreciated!

1. Wat would b a reasonable price to pay, for u to even seriously consider attending one of these courses? (eg. RM 3000 too low, RM 9000 no way!)

2. Ideally, wat sort of returns would u b looking for? (eg. 10% ROI/mth , 30%/annum)

3. For the price tat you’ve paid, wat sort of service would u xpect:
a) DURING the course?
b) AFTER the course?
(eg. 3- 6 mths one-to-one support, revisions, side-by-side LIVE trading)

4. Wats the ideal class size (no. of pupils/session)? (eg. 1 to 1? )

5. Wat do u think is/are the motive/motives of those conducting these courses?

Appreciate all your feedback! thumbup(1).gif

Thank You

Hi,

1. Wat would b a reasonable price to pay, for u to even seriously consider attending one of these courses? (eg. RM 3000 too low, RM 9000 no way!)

- RM 500 for basic. RM 5000 for coaching should be reasonable enough. However, there are too many scams out there, of course there are some genuine teacher available as well. Most of the courses focuses on the marketing (in getting signups) rather than focus on making u a profitable trader.

2. Ideally, wat sort of returns would u b looking for? (eg. 10% ROI/mth , 30%/annum)

- 10-20% return per month would be most ideal for manual trader. This target percentage would present with good money management without severe over-risking the account margin. Most manual trader are making more than 20% after they have gain some trading experience.

3. For the price tat you’ve paid, wat sort of service would u xpect:
a) DURING the course?
b) AFTER the course?
(eg. 3- 6 mths one-to-one support, revisions, side-by-side LIVE trading)

Revisions and live support is really necessary to assist new trader to be successful. As most of the course focused on the marketing mostly, it portraits a wrong idea of FOREX for most student. Usually these courses focus on how much u can make and focuses on showing u the profits..profits..and profits.. causing each student to be over excited and assume forex is a get-rich-fast thingy. In fact, forex never is a get-rich-fast thingy. It requires great effort to make it profitable, and once u got the grasp of it, u can start making money out of forex.

Most important is exit strategy & the money management & trading physchology in forex trading. This is often not thought or not emphasized in the trading courses, most courses focus on how to get an entry point.

So if anyone of you are serious into forex, pls make sure the forex group came with good after-seminar support, else a single day ..2 day course is not really worth the money.

I have spent couple of thousand for these courses many years back, and to discover that all of my teacher is just a trainer and makes money from the course, and they are not a trader and they cant trade.

4. Wats the ideal class size (no. of pupils/session)? (eg. 1 to 1? )

10-20 would be most ideal.

5. Wat do u think is/are the motive/motives of those conducting these courses?

MAKE YOUR MONEY !!! hahaha...

No it's getting paid extra for sharing good value. As knowledge will not make you rich, it's the application ahd sharing of that can make other people fortunes, and for the teacher it's gratitude. Cause honestly? The costs for the course cannot make up for the enormous profit you are going to make. So for your it would be great investment. Or you want to learn doing forex the hard way?

However ... it's pretty difficult to select somebody with a knowledge background in Forex. The forex market changes a lot, and thus different trading techniques have to be adopted. I know of a few online trading webinars though that are FREE and provide great value. PM me if you're interested.
